Chamco’s foam fire fighting systems are most often used to protect bulk storage tanks, but they have also been used for other applications such as airports and aircraft hangars to provide reliable fire protection.

There are many different types of foam available on the market. Depending on the foam type used, there may be different toxicity issues. When using a foam product, you should always refer to the material safety data sheet for the potential risks associated with the product.

There are several types of firefighting foams available on the market and each has its own unique formula.

Commonly we use 3% Aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) or 3% Alcohol Resistant Synthetic foam product. Each manufacturer’s fire fighting foam is a unique patented formulation specific to the manufacturer’s products.

Foam fire suppression systems extinguish a fire by cooling, coating, and smothering the fuel source that is on fire and preventing any contact between oxygen and the fuel source, eliminating the possibility of combustion.

Foam fire suppression packages are installed in conjunction with your firewater system which feeds water from the firewater system to the foam system. The water mixes with the foam concentrate and then is typically released through hoses or hydrants where the foam solution is required.
