Pump Installs for a Mining Site Barge
Our Langley branch recently completed a project to provide, adapt, and install several new pumps for a mining site barge, the primary objective of which was to enable energy savings and qualify for an incentive payout from BC Hydro. Key to the success of this project was correct pump selection, which required a deep understanding of the challenging environment that these pumps would be operating in order to identify efficient pumps suitable for this application. Also unique was the use of thrust pots to control down thrust generated by the vertical turbines, which was a rare application and interesting facet. Chamco’s pump team handled all aspects of this project on a turnkey basis, from pump selection through to local manufacture of the discharge heads, column, and thrust pots.
